Armenia to see 2 Iran childern film vie

‘Kelileh & Demneh’ by Alireza Tavakoli and ‘Houra’ by Gholamreza Sagharchiyan have been scheduled to go on screen in Armenia.

Iranian films ‘Kelileh & Demneh’ by Alireza Tavakoli and ‘Houra’ by Gholamreza Sagharchiyan have been scheduled to go on screen at Rolan International Film Festival for Children and Young People in Armenia.

The two films will represent Iranian cinema at the festival’s 13th edition which is slated to take place on November 7 to 11, 2017 in Yerevan, Armenia.

‘Kelileh and Demneh’ is an animation film depicting two young jackals caught up in the middle of a rainy night. Meanwhile, a horrified owl pays a visit to the king of the jungle to report about the excessive hunting he had witnessed.

‘Houra’ narrates the story of a country teenage boy, Hadi, who lives with his family somewhere on the rural railroad track connecting Tehran and Mashhad. Hadi tries to keep alive a garden, which is the only legacy of his mother's past.

Armenia-based event is organized by Rolan Bykov Foundation established in 2001. The main goal of the fund is to promote the development of cinema and TV for children and youth, to create their individuality and world-view on basis of traditional moral values.

Rolan International Film Festival for Children and Young People aims to involve children and young people in creative processes which will contribute to their spiritual enrichment, with the main aim of the festival being to create required conditions for the promotion and popularization of Armenian cinematography.
